The opening of the first Disneyland, Berlin’s latest street art and Legend Online II
This week we’ve dedicated ourselves on the pioneer of the American animation industry, the famous and beloved Walt Disney. His real name was Walter Ellias Disney and he was born in Chicago, 1901. The entrepreneur, animator, voice actor, and movie producer won 22 Oscars from 59 nominations which hold the record for the most Academy Awards earned by an individual. One of Walt’s many creations was the Mickey Mouse, which in 1932 became the most popular cartoon character on the screen. During the 1950’s, Walt started came up with the idea of building a theme park and as we know, once our mind is expanded by an idea, you can never bring it back to its previous size. Walt’s idea kept expanding his brain and business which resulted in the opening the first Disneyland back in 1955. To show you that ideas can change the world and become international, just like Walt’s ideas that spread and caused the opening of many other amusement parks, we’ve prepared this small selection of photos taken in “early” Disneyland – an amusement park in Anaheim, California in two parts (Part 1, Part 2). However, before Disneyland, Walt had his own film production company ‘Walt Disney Company’ which filmed the most famous movies for children we know today. However, back in 1941 because of the war in Europe, the company lost 40% of its market, which caused strike of artists who worked there and were not satisfied with their new working conditions. Neglecting the few unfortunate moments for his business, we all know that Walt was one of the most successful public figures during the previous century and because of that, he definitely earned our attention on OldPicz this week. For the end, let’s check out these rare photos of Walt and land on our ParadoxOff Planet to amuse ourselves with something fresh news from the world.
